    Dave Feral - Founder & Executive Director

    Dave is the founder of Baduwa't Watershed Council. He has been working in river restoration, monitoring and research since 1983. Dave got his start in stream restoration volunteering with fellow high school students in Petaluma and working to restore Steelhead runs in San Francisco Bay's Adobe Creek in Palo Alto. He holds a MA in Biology, with and emphasis in watershed ecology. He worked on Coho salmon studies, as a science education consultant and program director for Web of Life Field School.  He is the Executive Producer and Co-Director of Baduwa’t - the documentary.

  •  Steffan Allan - Vice President Baduwa't Watershed council

    Steffan Allan - Vice President

    Steffen is a lifelong Humboldt County resident. From an early age he was introduced to the fields of watershed management, riparian health and salmonid restoration. He has done extensive work in these fields throughout the county and around Humboldt Bay. Steffen assists as field coordinator in invasive plant management and native planting efforts. Steffen is committed to improving the health of our local watersheds and associated ecosystems. 

  • Tim Broadman - Treasurer

    Tim grew up near the Carmel River in Monterey County. He has worked in fisheries conservation, recreation, enforcement and harvest management for more than 40 years, including 29 years as a NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service Special Agent. Tim has advised the Pacific Fisheries Council on enforcement regulations and helped Klamath Indigenous Tribes protect salmon in the Klamath River Watershed. He and his wife live in Fieldbrook and organize Lindsay Creek restoration and educational programs.

  • Linda Miller

    Linda Miller - Secretary

    Linda has lived and worked in Humboldt County since 1984. She holds a Master’s degree in Natural Resources, and a BA in Environmental Biology from Humboldt State University. Her career experience includes working for The Nature Conservancy as a Botanist, Preserve Manager, and Restoration Manager at the Lanphere Dunes (Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge), where she gained skills working with a broad spectrum of public agencies, nonprofits, landowners, volunteers, and cooperators. In the latter portion of her career she worked as a GIS Analyst, including vegetation mapping, for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.

    Linda brings these skills and a passion for habitat restoration to her work at the Baduwa’t Watershed Council. She sees the BWC as a critical link for bringing stakeholders together to help restore this important watershed.

    Linda lives with her husband in the Baduwa’t watershed near Blue Lake, CA. She enjoys hiking, bird-watching, and native-plant gardening in her free time.

  • Rose Johnasen - Board Member Baduwa't Watershed Council

    Rose Johnasen - Board Member

    Rose received a BS in Environmental Science and Management from Cal Poly Humboldt State University. Having worked in the field of restoration for nearly seven years she feels a strong sense of shared appreciation for Baduwa't Watershed Council's unique contribution to the field of restoration ecology, conservation, and community involvement. Rose eagerly assists in cultivating sustainable relationships aimed towards restoring and protecting the Baduwa't River Watershed.  

  • Garrett Costello Baduwa't Watershed Council

    Garrett Costello - Board Member

    Garrett Costello is CEO and owner of Symbiotic Restoration Group, an ecological restoration group with a focus on restoration of streams and meadows. From design through implementation, Garrett ensures that collaboration, adaptive management, and monitoring lead to successful projects. Focusing on low-tech process based restoration, Garrett leads crews in the construction of beaver dam analogs and post assisted log structures, native oak restoration, soil bioengineering, hydrologic dam restoration, native planting, and fuel reduction. More often than not, Garrett can be found in the creek working on one of Symbiotic’s many restoration projects found throughout California.
